Soft skills: A vital pre-requisite

Soft skills: A vital pre-requisite

Soft skills is a sociological term that refers to a Cluster of Personality Traits such as

  • Social Grace,
  • Communication Skills
  • Personal Habits
  • Friendliness and
  • Optimism

These all are qualities that play a crucial role towards molding and enhancing an individual’s overall personality. Agreed, knowledge skills are essential as they help fulfill the technical requirements of one’s job but when complemented with the right amount of soft skills, it can help achieve professional excellence.

With India working its way towards becoming a global power, it’s mandatory that its manpower strives to achieve and adopt international standards of working. Soft skills play a vital role in contributing towards one’s professional growth; they help one to excel in the workplace. Good soft skills, which are, in fact scarce, in today’s highly competitive corporate world will help an individual stand out in a milieu of routine job seekers with mediocre skills and talent.

Most of the business leaders observe that they could find employees who have “hard skills”, but many potential hires lack the soft skills that a company needs.
CEOs and human resource managers say they are ready to hire workers who display soft skills and then train them for the specific jobs available.

Hence, every high-quality training institute must ensure that every course must include a detailed chapter on soft skills. Keeping this urgent need for corporate soft skills in mind, Education Times, in association with Advance Learning, is offering its readers a two-day workshop on the importance of soft skills and the advantages of the same. Advance Learning comprises of an extremely talented and experienced group of people working towards one goal – to revolutionize the quality of education in India.
